Knowledge is Power! Read more books!
In any disaster or SHTF scenario, knowledge will be power. Those that can think, respond and adapt will thrive while others wither and die.
The road to knowledge is a journey and takes constant study and practice. Whether you are just beginning down the path of Self-Reliance, or have been on the road for a while, we highly recommend that you get your hands on the “Family Preparedness Handbook” by James Talmage Stevens.
The book is so jam packed full of information, it’s hard to tell someone exactly what’s in it. It has twenty-nine chapters of varying lengths covering everything from daily lifestyle skills, gardening, gold and silver, medical, building a library, energy, fuel storage and much more.
The “Family Preparedness Handbook” has pages and pages of charts, checklists, and hundreds of suggestions for people who want to prepare for an emergency or disaster. It has recipes, tables, illustrations and worksheets; all of which are easy to read, easy to digest and applicable in a wide range of circumstances. They also very unselfishly suggest numerous other businesses and experts where information and tools are available.
- Don’t know where to start a personal prep program?
- Go to chapters one through four.
- Not sure how to put together an emergency kit?
- Turn to chapter five for ideas and suggestions
- No idea how to build your emergency food supply?
- Chapters seven through eleven walk you step but step.
-If you already have food storage, then this section helps recognize and address gaps that you might not know that you have.
- Curious about supplements and vitamins needed for your health during an emergency?
-Chapters twenty-three through twenty-six explain it.
- Building your preparedness library and need some referrals on what to read?
-Chapter twenty-seven identifies numerous resources and authors and where to find mountains of information.
I would consider the “Family Preparedness Handbook” an essential part of any personal preparedness library. Regardless of where you are on your Self-Reliance journey, this book is BOMBER!
