Plan 2 React - Former Marine Outsmarts Robber

Posted on December 20 2018

Having spatial and situational awareness, as well as tactical patience is sometimes all that is required to out think your attacker. Utilizing these three things in a life and death situation will allow you to regain the initiative, as well as defend innocent people around you while you deal with the imminent danger caused by an attacker.

In this video, you are about to witness a retired Marine Corps veteran put a robber into a false state of security. He escorts the robber back behind the bar, away from bar patrons, and regains the initiative utilizing his size, strength, and surprise. Had the former Marine not had the presence of mind to get the attacker behind the counter with him, he never would have had the opportunity to stop him.

After getting the robber behind the bar, it is evident that the robber is no longer a threat to anyone except for the former Marine turned bartender. While feigning compliance with the robber’s commands, the bartender can constantly assess the situation and wait for the right moment to strike and take back the initiative.

In the moment he hands the robber the cash, he notices a gap in the robber’s posture and instantly capitalizes, securing the firearm in a brief struggle. Due to the size and obvious skill difference between the robber and the bartender, the bartender is easily able to take control of the firearm and detain the robber until help can arrive. This instantly neutralizes the threat.

While law enforcement was en-route to the scene, the robber managed to get out of the bar and flee on foot. Police said the man was last seen wearing a blue winter jacket, blue winter hat, jeans, and a gray/red plaid scarf that covered most of his face. Law enforcement also state that the man is probably suffering from facial injuries that were caused when the bartender struck him several times with the firearm.

No Norman, Russell is correct. You didn’t carefully read what he wrote. In his scenario, your scenario would not apply. He said that if the robber would have been the bloodthirsty type he would’ve simply shot the marine and dropped him dead, then and there!

So there would have been no opportunity for the marine later to grab the weapon…

screw you russel. the robber was a scumbag and the bartender a marine. you dont know if he would shoot him after he got the money anyway.

Stupid move – the robber really didn’t want to shoot anyone or the “hero” would be dead. The hero should be thankful he is alive. And videos like this just encourage other would-be “hero” idiots.

    Good for the marine!
